Vitamin C is a key ingredient needed for healthy bones, skin and even blood in your body. It’s mostly found naturally in fruits and vegetables.

However, Vitamin C is water soluble, this means that our bodies cannot retain it. We therefore, need regular intake of it to maintain healthy lifestyles.

Apart from finding it in food, you can also find it in supplement intake which can easily be found in pharmacies.

Supplements are highly recommended for smokers,  people with limited options of food variety, people with chronic diseases and infants. This is because their lifestyle choices and circumstance require them to have more than usual amounts of vitamin C in their body.

Lack of vitamin C in your body usually results to; Tiredness,  swollen joints, bleeding gums, loose teeth and in worse cases, anemia.

People with adequate amounts of vitamin C are able to fight diseases and infections. Their wounds also heal faster when your body is vitamin C sufficient.

You can increase your vitamin C intake by eating; oranges, sweet red pepper, strawberries, kiwi, tomatoes, broccoli and spinach.

Do take note that everything is good in moderation. Too much natural vitamin C intake will lead to diarrhea and stomach upsets. A lot of Vitamin C supplement intake may lead to Kidney stones.
